TEXT & UTILITY
Text Diff Checker
Compare two texts line by line and reveal Unicode and invisible-character differences.
Comparison result
Differences will appear here after comparison.
What this tool does
It compares two ordered texts, showing added, removed, and changed lines plus hard-to-see Unicode differences. It is useful for configuration, logs, code fragments, and prose.
How to use it
- Paste the original and comparison text into the two fields.
- Select Compare texts, then move through the changed blocks.
- Show invisible characters or copy the plain-text difference report when needed.
Comparison details
Lines are aligned first, then changed lines are compared by grapheme cluster. Unicode is not normalized, so visually similar NFC and NFD sequences remain different. Exact equality is reported separately from equality after CRLF and CR are treated as LF.
The copied plain-text report contains the match states, counts, line numbers, changed text, and relevant Unicode annotations. It is a report, not an applicable Git patch.
Limits and privacy
Each side is limited to 500,000 UTF-16 code units and 20,000 lines, with a 5-second processing limit. Repeated lines can have more than one valid alignment. Input and results remain in this browser.
