What this tool does
It validates JSON and changes only formatting whitespace to make API responses, configuration, and other data easier to review.
How to use it
- Paste JSON into the input field.
- Choose 2 spaces, 4 spaces, or tabs.
- Select Format JSON, then copy the result if needed.
Validation and formatting
Invalid input stays in place so you can correct it. When the browser reports an exact location, the line and column are shown separately from the stable error message.
Comments, single-quoted strings, and trailing commas are not valid JSON. Formatting preserves member order, number spelling, duplicate member names, and other non-whitespace tokens. A final newline is not added to the copied result.
Limits and privacy
Input is limited to 1 MB and processing stops after 5 seconds to keep the page responsive. JSON stays in your browser and is not sent or stored by AppBoya.
